    Crime, Sexuality and Gender – Queer Zagreb, October 2008.

    Queer Zagreb is an international festival which has been taking place in Croatia since 2003 and has been presenting international and local artists, academics and activists to an audience of cca 3000 – 5000 per year. Queer Zagreb festival constructs its programme each year around a certain theme which is presented throughout its programme. So far we have touched such issues as -postsocialist queer identity-, -heteronormativity of childhoods-, -transgression of private into public- and -Balkans queer-. For our 2008 edition the main topic of interest is -Crime, sexuality and gender- to be presented in different forms during the event – visual arts, performance, film and an academic conference.

    Prezentarea publica a inregistrarii de catre ziaristi a fost legala

    Presedintele Traian Basescu primeste lectii de comportament de la judecatori. Potrivit Curtii de Apel Bucuresti, seful statului, in calitate de persoana publica, trebuie sa fie responsabil pentru declaratiile pe care le face indiferent de locul in care se afla.

    “Reclamantul (Traian Basescu – n.red.), in calitate de persoana publica, are obligatia, indiferent de locul in care se afla, sa manifeste responsabilitate si moderatie in exprimare”, se arata in motivarea comunicata ieri de instanta.

    Este vorba de motivarea hotararii de respingere a recursului formulat de sefului statului la decizia Consiliului National de Combatere a Discriminarii (CNCD) de sanctionare cu avertisment a acestuia pentru folosirea expresiei “tiganca imputita” la adresa unei jurnaliste de la Antena 1.

    Department of Theology and Religious Studies/University of Leeds Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies/University of Manchester

    This one day postgraduate conference seeks to examine issues of gender and borders/boundaries across a range of critical perspectives. We want to encourage innovative and interdisciplinary dialogues and welcome postgraduate students from a variety of disciplines, such as anthropology, cultural studies, gender studies, religion, sociology, psychology, politics, geography and social
