*Dear **rebellious** women,*

An European WomenLesbianGathering is supposed to take place from the 28th of December 2007 to the 2nd of January 2008.

*The idea of the meeting is: *
– to exchange our experiences in social and emancipatory struggles,
– to discuss about possibilities and hindrances as well as the development, meaning and plurality of feminist forms of resistance,
– to exchange ideas of possibilities of international solidarity and support,
– to learn and teach creative abilities,
– to enjoy ourselves as well as to have fun and pleasure!

*Who we are*

We are women who got to know each other in the Ya-Basta-Net in Germany (www.ya-basta-netz.de.vu). The idea for the european WomenLesbianGathering came up during the *Second Meeting of the Zapatist Communities with the Peoples of the World*. On this last meeting the zapatist women announced that they want to invite for a meeting around this New Year´s Eve. The issue of this meeting is the struggles and the organizations of the zapatist women (for further information: http://zeztainternazional.ezln.org.mx).

Several women from different European countries decided to meet at the same time as the meeting of the zapatist women in a gathering in Europe. Because here as well we are stuck in the struggles against a patriarchal and capitalist system we refuse. Thus it is important for us to organize ourselves where we live. Because this is the only way we as women can fight together worldwide.

*What do we want to do? *

We want to work in workshops to various issues like feminist forms of resistance and women’s movement in different countries, the situation and resistance of women in Mexico, anarchafeminism and the construction and deconstruction of gender. Moreover workshops with street theatre, film and radio, computer (security, layout etc.), welding, clowns, radical cheerleading and much more should make it possible to exchange and extend our abilities. Of course there’s also a lot of space for creativity and cultural stuff!

The concept of the workshops is open: everywomen who’s going to participate can and should contribute with her own ideas!

*Where and when?*

The gathering is supposed to take place from the 28th of December 2007 till the 2nd of January 2008. The place of the meeting is not decided yet. We can propose the autonomous center KTS in Freiburg/Germany (kts-freiburg.org). We decided for this place because it’s well situated in the three-Countries-Corner France, Germany and Switzerland, the existing infrastructure and the people living there who want to help in the realization of the meeting.

*We need you! *

We don’t see ourselves as a closed group and look forward to everyone who wants to participate in the realization of the meeting in whatever way.

We need women who are able and willing to do the translations (for the invitation and during the meeting). Women, who can do some advertising (Postern, distributing flyers, sending e-mail-invitations, …) are also wanted.

It is still open who is going to prepare and do the workshops.

And of course we need creative ideas to figure out, how we can get some money for the gathering!

The next meeting for preparing the WomenLesbianGathering in December is on the 24th and 25th of November in Berlin.

*PS.: Why ‘WomenLesbianMeeting’?*

We thought about how to realize this meeting. After a long and intensive discussion we decided for a WomenLesbianGathering. Because the point is that women/lesbian can meet, get in contact and connect. We do know that we can be confronted with the reproach to be exclusive ourselves. Furthermore we are conscious about the fact that changes in society are only possible when everyone takes part in it. We all have to reflect about structures of dominance and settings of behaviour. To achieve this it is necessary that we communicate our thoughts and ideas as well as to start a dialog. Still, before that we women and lesbian need a space to exchange and discuss first – without the participation of men.

Queridas mujeres rebeldes,

Del 29 de Diciembre al 2 de Enero se llevará a cabo un encuentro europeo de mujeres y lesbianas

La idea del encuentro es:

– intercambiar nuestras experiencias en las luchas sociales y emancipadoras
– discutir sobre posibilidades y obstáculos, así como el desarrollo, la importancia y la variedad de las formas de la resistencia feminista
– intercambio sobre las posibilidades de la solidaridad internacional y apoyo recíproco
– transmitir y aprender habilidades creativas
– tener diversión, alegría y placer!

Quienes somos

Somos mujeres, quienes se han conocidas en la red Ya-Basta-Alemania (www.ya-basta-netz.de.vu). La idea para el encuentro surgió durante el Segundo encuentro de los pueblos zapatistas con los pueblos del mundo en el que las mujeres zapatistas invitaron a otro encuentro a finales de diciembre. Esto será un encuentro de mujeres para hablar sobre la lucha y la organización de las mujeres zapatistas.( más informaciónes: http://zeztainternazional.ezl.org.mx).

Algunas mujeres de diferentes países de Europa han decido encontrarse paralelamente con el encuentro zapatista en un encuentro europeo, ya que nosotras también somos parte de las luchas en contra de un sistema patriarcal y capitalista al que rechazamos. Por eso para nosotras es muy importante organizarnos allí, donde vivimos. Solo así podemos luchar juntas en todo el mundo.

Qué queremos hacer?

Queremos trabajar en talleres sobre temas como formas de resistencia feminista, los movimientos feministas en diferentes países, la situación y la resistencia de mujeres en México, construcción y deconstrucción de genero y anarcafeminismo. Además debemos intercambiar capacidades de diferentes tipos en talleres sobre teatro callejero, películas y radio, computación (seguridad , layout), soldadura, payaso, Cheerleading radical y mucho más. Por supuesto hay mucho espacio para actividades creativas y culturales.

El concepto del encuentro y de los talleres es abierto: ¡Todas las que vienen pueden y deben aportar sus propias ideas!

Dónde y cuándo

El encuentro tiene lugar del 29 de diciembre del 2007 al 2 de enero de 2008. El lugar todavía no está fijo. Como lugar posible podemos ofrecer el centro autónomo KTS en Freiburg/Alemania. Nos decidimos por este, a causa de su sitio (frontera Francia/Suiza/Alemania), la infraestructura existente y mujeres presentes, quienes quieren participar en el encuentro.

Te necesitamos

No nos entendemos como grupo cerrado y nos alegramos sobre cada una, que quiera participar en la organización.

Todavía nos hacen falta mujeres para la traducción (en el preludio y durante el encuentro)

También es importante que haya mujeres que hagan la propaganda para el encuentro (repartir volantes y carteles, enviar correos electrónicos…)

Tampoco tenemos mujeres suficientes para la preparación y la realización de los talleres.

La próxima reunión para la preparación de todo esto es el 24./25. de noviembre en Berlín.

PD: Porque encuentro de mujeres/lesbianas?

Hemos reflexionadas como podría ser el encuentro. Después de una larga discusión nos hemos decidido por un encuentro absolutamente para mujeres y lesbianas. Al fin y al cabo se trata especialmente de que mujeres y lesbianas se encuentren y enlacen. Tenemos muy claro, que es posible que podríamos ser confrontadas con el reproche de que nosotras mismas somos
excluyentes. También somos concientes de que cambios sociales solo son posibles, cuando tod@s l@s seres human@s son parte de ellos. Tod@s tenemos que reflexionar sobre estructuras de dominio y patrones de comportamiento. A favor de eso tenemos que mediar nuestras ideas y un dialogo tiene que surgir. No obstante, antes necesitamos nosotras un espacio, para intercambiarnos y poder discutir, sin la intervención de hombres.
