If you can tell yourself that rape survivors asked for it \u2014 that they dressed a certain way, flirted too much, drank too much, just changed their minds, or flat-out made it up \u2014 you feel safe. You don\u2019t do those things, and so you aren\u2019t at risk.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m sympathetic to the need for psychological self-protection. But not when it\u2019s to the detriment of other women. &#8230; It\u2019s the standard right-wing misogynist line.
