A 2-Day, International, Interdisciplinary Conference to be held at the Women’s Education, Research and Resource Centre (WERRC), School of Social Justice, University College Dublin, Ireland<\/p>\n
\nKeynote Speakers<\/p>\n
KATE BORNSTEIN is an author, playwright and performance artist. Adrienne Rich. Kate’s published works include the books Gender Outlaw: On Men, Women and the Rest of Us; My Gender Workbook; and the cyber-romance-action novel, Nearly Roadkill with co-author Caitlin Sullivan. Kate’s plays and performance pieces include Strangers in Paradox, Hidden: A Gender, The Opposite Sex Is Neither, Virtually Yours, and y2kate: gender virus 2000.<\/p>\n
BARBARA CARRELLAS is an author, sex educator, and theatre artist. Her most recent books are Urban Tantra: Sacred Sex for the Twenty-First Century and Luxurious Loving: Tantric Inspirations for Passion and Pleasure. Barbara’s pioneering Urban Tantra\u00ae workshops were named best in New York City by TimeOut \/ New York magazine. She frequently collaborates with her partner, Kate Bornstein, with whom she performs and tours their sex positive, gender-bending lecture\/performance piece Too Tall Blondes Do Sex, Death & Gender.<\/p>\n
Call for Papers<\/p>\n
Proposals are welcomed on (though are by no means limited to) the following:<\/p>\n
Lesbian Cultures, Literature, biographies, histories, sexualities, gender performances, lesbian activisms, alliances and ruptures, radical feminisms, identities, ethnicities, historical literature, Motherhood, Worldwide Lesbian and Gay Liberation Movements, Community and Social Activisms, Histories of Sexualities, Queer Readings of Literature And Histories, <\/p>\n
The conference organisers welcome proposals for (A) individual papers, (B) sessions, (C) round table discussions, and (D) workshops.<\/p>\n
Individual Papers: Individual papers should last 20 minutes. Individuals should submit: (1) paper title, (2) abstract (3) biography (4) institutional affiliation and address, (5) AV requirements.<\/p>\n
Sessions: Panels of academic papers should include 3 speakers and 1 moderator. Each paper should last for 20 minutes, with a further 30 minutes for questions and discussion. Proposers should submit (1) session & paper title, (3) abstracts for each paper (3) biography for each participant (4) institutional affiliation and address for each participant, (5) AV requirements.<\/p>\n
Round Table Discussions: Round table discussions should include 6 speakers and 1 moderator. Each paper should last for 10 minutes with a further 30 minutes for questions and discussion. Proposers should submit (1) round table title, (2) rationale for round table (3) biography for each participant (4) institutional affiliation and address for each participant, (5) AV requirements.<\/p>\n
Workshops: Workshops last 90 minutes. Proposers should submit (1) workshop title, (2) rationale for workshop (3) biography (4) institutional affiliation and address (if relevant) (5) AV requirements<\/p>\n
