The 19-strong jury of the Reader\u2019s Digest magazine, offered the title of \u2018European Person of the Year\u2019 to a Romanian, a first in the 15-year history of this award, a hero who has dedicated and risked her life to save the girls who fell victim to traffickers in persons.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been 11 years since Iana Matei, aged 50, founder and executive director of \u2018Reaching Out\u2019, has been using her organization as a weapon against this most cruel form of modern slavery.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
